Our Story

The Lazy Labrador Coffee House is located in the historic and entertainment district of downtown Kennesaw. The Lazy Lab was built in 1909, and recently underwent an extensive 20-month historic renovation, with oversight from the City of Kennesaw and the Kennesaw Historic Preservation Commission. It is a contributing property to Kennesaw's Historic District which is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Lazy Labrador Coffee House was recently recognized for its 'outstanding contribution to the preservation of Cobb heritage' by the Cobb Landmarks & Historical Society for the restoration of 2886 Cherokee St.

The property features a wrap-around front porch with rocking chairs, indoor seating for 55 including a second-story area, a working fireplace, ADA ramp, 3 restrooms (2 ADA), a fenced picnic area with picnic table/umbrella, a cornhole/bocce court with picnic table/umbrella, a fire pit with 6 Adirondack chairs, park benches, an additional 2 Adirondack chairs below our 6ft round sign (great photo location) and a 6 bistro-table respite under the two grand Magnolia trees.

The Lazy Lab is a perfect place to meet friends and enjoy our award-winning craft coffees, teas, and smoothies; and cookies, scones, and sweetbreads.

PARKING

There are 10 dedicated parking spots behind the Lazy Labrador + 1 Handicap spot. You may park along Boone St. on the Lazy Labrador side of the street only. This usually accommodates about 6-7 cars. If you park on Boone St. please park in the direction of travel.
Parking is at a premium between 10am – 2pm. We are fortunate to have two free public parking lots with over 200 spaces within 1-2 blocks for overflow parking.
If you are coming to the Coffee House to stay for more than 30 minutes, we kindly ask that you park (for free) at Depot Park (one block away) or behind the Southern Museum (two blocks away). This will allow our in-out customers easier access to the Coffee House.
Please do not park on Boone St within 30ft of the intersection of Cherokee St. (state law and you will get ticketed). This area is designated by 3 orange cones.
Please do not park in the Townhome parking spots behind the Lazy Labrador Coffee House.
If you cannot find parking in the Lazy Labrador Parking Lot, follow Boone St. around and exit back onto Cherokee St. from Fuller’s Chase business park. Please do not turnaround on Boone St or use a neighbor’s driveway to turnaround.
